Springwood Park has been in the family for many years; it was maintained as a dairy farm until 1971, and since then it has been run as a beef fattening property.
There is a large 6 acre dam stocked with trout, fly fishing lessons can be
arranged. The lake is stocked every spring with 750 gram Brown and Rainbow
trout, Salmon and Silver Perch.
For small children a pony is available for supervised rides, small animals
are kept in nearby paddocks eg. geese, lambs, poultry and goats. Alpacas are
with the Sheep continuously to guard them from foxes. We also have a small
walkway into a forest area and it is a haven for small birds and Wildlife.
Enjoy walks through the spacious paddocks to see the different farming techniques. Milking of cows can be seen by arrangement. Bicycle rides can be enjoyed in the quiet of the countryside. (Please supply own bikes and helmets)
Springwood Park Homestead can host 8 people, two queen size beds, 2 singles
beds and double bunks with a cot available if needed. Two large bathrooms each
with shower and toilet. We have also made a Hut where Men used to sleep, available
for children to play their games and also it has been used for a bed room.
Recently it has been painted inside with a Fairy Mural and on the outside with
a country Mural. There are also Murals around the tank and along the Recreation
room depicting farm scenes and water scenes.
There is a recreational room that contains aquariums with yabby’s,
mice and turtles. There is a blackboard, table tennis table, a gas heater Ideal
for cold wet weather days. Also for the children the room is equipped with
a Television, video player and a CD player. There is also a small cubby house.
The verandah has the added attraction of relaxation in a rural setting, and
billiards can be played in the games room. The house is fully furnished, all
linen supplied, a stereo TV, video, electric blankets and a fully equipped
kitchen. There is two TV’s in the Homestead, one of which has a DVD player
and the other in the Billiard Room has a Video player.
